Fireworks set off in North Junior High bathroom, latest in string of school incidents
BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — A string of unfortunate events at North Junior High continues after school was dismissed early last Thursday.
A spokesman for the school district tells CBS2 that what appears to be fireworks were set off in one of the bathrooms. Out of an abundance of caution, school was let out early and law enforcement was called in to investigate.
Boise Police report that the School Resource Officer was able to determine the student(s) responsible and information gathered from the investigation has been forwarded to juvenile prosecutors for potential charges.
This follows a recent incident where an intoxicated adult male boarded a school bus headed for North Junior while armed with a gun. The suspect was taken into custody after the bus pulled up in front of the school and BPD officers were waiting for him. The suspect attempted to flee on foot when the officers began searching the man, though he was captured and taken into custody.
CBS2 is reaching out to prosecutors to see if charges will be pursued against any of the students involved with the firecracker incident last week. We will continue to update this story as we learn more.
