Guy Ritchie is an English director, screenwriter, and producer. He has directed the films Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels; Snatch (2000), Swept Away, Revolver, RocknRolla, Sherlock Holmes (2009), Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, Aladdin (2019), The Gentlemen, Wrath of Man, Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre, and Guy Ritchie’s The Covenant. He also wrote Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels; Snatch, Swept Away, RocknRolla, and The Gentlemen, and co-wrote Revolver, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, Aladdin, Wrath of Man, and the two subsequent films.

He is the son of Amber Mary (Parkinson) and Captain John Vivian Ritchie. His father re-married to Shireen Ritchie, Baroness Ritchie of Brompton, a model, politician, and life peer. His mother re-married to a baronet.

Guy is married to model Jacqui Ainsley. He has two children, including Rocco Ritchie, with his former wife, American singer and actress Madonna; and three children with Jacqui.

Guy’s paternal grandfather was Major Stuart/Stewart John Ritchie (the son of John Robert Ritchie and Eva Marion Louisa Powell). Major Stuart died in France, in 1940, during World War II.

Guy’s paternal grandmother was Doris Margaretta McLaughlin (the daughter of Vivian Guy Ouseley McLaughlin and Edith Jane Martineau). Vivian was the son of Hubert McLaughlin and Frederica Crofton, whose father was Edward Crofton, 2nd Baronet, whose maternal grandfather was John Stewart, 7th Earl of Galloway, and whose maternal great-grandfather was James Dashwood, 2nd Baronet. Edith was born in Brazil, to English parents, William Martineau and Margaretta Sarah Mason. Her surname comes from her own French-origin great-great-great-grandfather, David Martineau. Through Edith, Guy shares common ancestors with Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge. The McLaughlins have a pedigree going back to King Edward I of England.
