Meridian shoppers ahead of Black Friday: 'We've already begun'

It's time to look ahead to Black Friday, a holiday comeback for brick and mortar stores.

Idahoans are preparing for a return to shopping centers, on the busiest shopping day of the year.

People are already lining up outside the Best Buy on Franklin Road in Boise, determined to secure items on their shopping list for the holidays.

Some have chosen to do their shopping in advance.

"I have three kids and their birthdays are between November 28th, and December 21st," Melissa Gentili, a local shopper, said. "So I do all my shopping early so I don't have to worry about it."

For those that haven't done holiday shopping yet, there's a slew of hot deals for this chilly winter season. And even those not out to shop have made room in their budget for holiday fun.

"We just had Thanksgiving dinner," Zach Jablonski said. "It was very good!" said Audrey Nichols.

For some, Black Friday shopping may not be in the cards, considering the large crowds that usually accompany the event.

"I'll probably go shopping, maybe, we'll have to see," said Kyaw Nay, a local man. "It might be packed, you know?"

Holiday shopping hours at Fleet Feet in The Village are from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Many families are doing their shopping before Black Friday, believing it better to get the bulk of the buying done outside of holiday hours.

"We've already begun," said Kyle Bunker, a holiday shopper. "So, we're taking advantage of online and then we'll be out again."

Best Buy on Franklin Road opens its doors at 5:00 a.m. on Friday.
