Mother posts Facebook video beating daughter

SAVANNAH, Ga. (Sinclair Broadcast Group) - Video posted on Facebook shows a mother hitting her daughter over sexy photos the teen posted on the site.

Crying on the tape, the young girl is slapped with an object.

"That sh*t cute? You're 16 right? You're only f***ing 16 and you wanna be a THOT!" the mother said.

The acronym stands for "that hoe over there."

The footage went viral, igniting a discussion over abuse and public shaming.

"Now, I'm gonna need y'all to send this viral, please share this. 'Cause I'm not done, more to come," the mother says to the camera.

In posts on Facebook, both the mother and her daughter appear to address the video on the social media site.

"I understand why she did what she did," the girl's post states.

"I love my daughter with all my heart what ever happens after this o [sic] well my daughter is not going to disrespect me or herselffor [sic] nobody," another post states, claiming to be her mother.

According to CNN, law enforcement is investigating the incident, and the case was referred to the Department of Children and Family Services for follow-up.

No charges are currently pending.
