Rafael Nadal’s illustrious career draws closer to an end, but he is set to play in major tournaments despite his age. The Spanish star has played in three consecutive tournaments this season and is on the Wimbledon entry list.

This is coming as a welcome surprise to his fans as the Spaniard has always said he would love to play at the Paris Olympics Games, which will be hosted on the Roland Garros. The Olympics kicks off on July 26 to August 11, but the Wimbledon championship is set to take place between July 1 to 14. Rafa now looks to be competing in two major competitions as he turns 38 in June.

Wimbledon might not be Nadal’s favorite tournament, but he has had one of his best achievements there. The 22-time Grand Slam champion won the Championship in 2008 and 2010 and earned one win against Roger Federer, the record winner of the coveted grass Major. He will be hoping to win the title this year, after 14 years.

The 37-year-old has begun his season well despite setbacks. Nadal earned his first clay win in Barcelona before exiting in the second round. He competed at the Madrid Open, winning three matches before exiting in the round of 16. He received an outstanding ovation in what seems to be his last Madrid match.

He participated at the Italian Open, which he has won a record ten times. But his stay at the Italian capital was cut short after Polish star Hubert Hurkacz beat him in the second round of the tournament.

He is in Paris in preparation for the Roland Garros, which starts on May 26. It will be his first Grand Slam event since the 2023 Australian Open.

Rafael Nadal trains at the Roland Garros as he hopes to win the 15th title there

Rafael Nadal arrived in Paris a week before the French Open commences on May 26. The Spanish star trained on the Court Philippe-Chatrier on Monday and Tuesday, as he intensifies his preparation ahead of his last Roland Garros.

The 37-year-old missed the French Open last year for the first time in 19 years after sustaining a hip injury at the Australian Open. He was ambiguous about playing at the Roland Garros this year, especially after his loss at the Italian Open, but he has put all that aside.

Meanwhile, Nadal 112 wins in 115 French Open games and 14 Roland Garros titles make him one of the favorites to win the title, despite a slow start to the season.
